Announcement

Assalam Alaikum and Hello to you all

Aslaan, Faiza and I would like to announce the arrival of our second child, and Aslaan's first sibling, Rafay Ahmer Karimuddin. Baby and mother are both well, and father is trying to climb down from giddy heights, and get ready for the Royal College Exams.

Rafay arrived into the world on April 24th, 2007 at 10:55 pm, after almost 24 hours of labour. Dr. Christine Otani delivered this 2.8 kg (6 lbs, 3 oz), 20 inches long, bundle of joy.

We hope you will share in our joy and happiness, and spare all four of us a few thoughts today. Hope to see you all soon, and ensure that Rafay gets hugs and kisses
from all of you! The gang in Toronto should not fret, only two more months left before we move to the big smoke!

Best wishes and all our love

Ahmer, Faiza, Aslaan and Rafay

They're coming to Toronto, Canada!!

What more can I ask for!! For those who don't know, I'll be moving to Toronto, Ontario, Canada from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in the latter part of June/early July. Now, the move comes along with my Royal College fellowship exams and a new baby so it all feels pretty stressful. But it FELT stressful, now it doesn't! If this is true, Pakistan will be playing a Twenty20 tournament in Toronto in August, and yours truly has every intention of being there for as many matches as possible!! OOHHH WHAT A RUSH!

Tossed Heroes Salad, Anyone?

A profound article in Dawn by Iftikhar Hyder, about how we treat our heroes in Pakistan, specially our sporting heroes.

Quote: The greatest squash legend ever, Hashim Khan, now more than 90 years old, lives a quite life in Denver, Colarado and coaches at a local club to people who hardly have any idea that their frail, old coach is the greatest squash player who ever lived. There is probably not a single Pakistani who thought it worthwhile to write his biography or to convince him to live in Pakistan and grace her with his presence

Oops... Sorry folks!

My sincere apologies everyone. I just had to edit a lot of my posts, and when I republished my blog, it appears that on RSS readers and Aggregators, there was a flood of posts from my blog, some horribly outdated.

I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience.

Studying Surgery in Atlanta

Well, folks, I won't be blogging for the next one week. I am sequestered away in a hotel in Atlanta trying to get three textbooks of stuff into my head in a week, for my fellowship exams in three weeks. I'll rely on all of you other bloggers and CricInfo to keep me uptodate and make sure that I get all caught up when I come back home.

Just thought I would show you a picture of my little one, Aslaan and show you guys what I am missing squirreled away in a hotel in the Deep South. Alas, has to be done. Happy blogging and cricket watching!
