After Day 1, it looks like England and Pakistan are fairly evenly poised. After Trescothick and Vaughan got off to a flying start, Shoaib Malik became the go to guy, with 3 wickets in 17 deliveries. Collingwood and Pietersen tried to settle things down, but some precise and compact bowling from Naved really helped to slow England down and keep their score under control.
While I'm sure in three days Shoaib will be cited, again, for a troublesome action (roll of the eyes here), Pakistan have done well and need to continue to do well to get England out for under 300 for them to consider themselves successful.
More tomorrow.
