India beats Pakistan

Well, it was to be expected. The far more experienced and internationally savvy Indian women's cricket team beat Pakistan handily by a margin of 193 runs. Pakistan did well to start off with, taking two early wickets to get India to 66 for 2. But then, the wheels came off. Sharma and Chopra put on 223 for the 3rd wicket, to take India to an imposing total of 289. Against a high calibre Indian team, Pakistan were never seriously going to threaten this target, and they didnt. The openers Tasqeen and Sajjida did well to take Pakistan to 31, before wickets began to fall fast and furious. Pakistan were dismissed for 96, and the ending was never in doubt.

Full credit to the Pakistani squad though for giving it their all, and really trying to make an effort in their first international event. Only good things can come in due time.
