So let me get this straight: Pakistan, with one leg spinner and 3 to 4 pacers in their squad, make Mushtaq Ahmed their bowling coach and let Waqar go because they couldn't decide on the length of the deal?! And now, England is going to approach Waqar to coach their bowlers?!
While some could contend that Waqar is too close to the team, having recently retired to be effective as a coach, but no one can tell me that they couldn't have used Waqar at the national academy, or perhaps in another capacity. Australia were even able to use someone as bombastic as Lillee in various coaching capacities over the past many years. If Waqar doesn't make sense as Pakistan's bowling coach or as a coach in some capacity, there really is no way that Mushtaq Ahmed makes sense in that role.
