At 39 for 6, who would have thunk this! After fighting back to a score of 245, on a pitch that was beginning to become placid, Pakistan must have felt they had it tough with batsmen of the like of Sehwag, Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar to come, and Ganguly due for a big score.
Those feelings must have been set aside, because first Shoaib Akhtar bowled with fire, and Asif began by bowling some absolutely unplayable deliveries. And then, Asif got one to move away off the seam, and Dravid was caught behind, India 9 for 1. Sehwag began his inning with the usual fire, bashing Shoaib over third-man for a big 4, but then Shoaib got a shortish ball to move off the seam, Sehwag caught behind, India 14 for 2. Tendulkar and Laxman then settled things down a little bit and played some good shots, with Tendulkar looking in specially good form. Mohammad Asif got one delivery to move back a mile, and beat Laxman between bat and pad to rock his off-stump. If that wasn't bad enough, next over, Abdul Razzaq got one to move in off the seam, edge off Tendulkar's bat, pad and then dislodge the bails. India 56 for 4, and Pakistan is definitely back in the match.
At the end of the day, India was at 74 for 4, with Ganguly and Yuvraj at the wicket. Should make for an interesting start to the second day.
