Now this is Pakistani cricket

How spoilt we have become.  Three tests without the routine
Pakistani verve, fightback and win from behind, we seem to
have forgotten that this team was ever any good or ever had
any potential.

It only took one day, and really two and a quarter sessions to
remind us of the reason why we love Pakistani cricket.

Mohammad Asif came back from injury, and in two devestating
spells, bowled a tight and consistent line, swung the ball both
ways, and then got reverse swing during the latter half, without
losing his line.  Umar Gul, perhaps happy to finally have a reliable
bowling partner back, bowled probingly, and Shahid Nazir really
did acquit himself well.  None of the England big names, who
had demolished Mohammad Sami and feasted on the absence
of any probe to the attack, Umar Gul notwithstanding, were able
to get any start or any innings of any reasonable significance.
Only Cook and Strauss ever looked comfortable for any
time.

And amazingly, with the bowling attack doing well, even Imran
Farhat chipped in with a 50, and now the aim should be to bat
out Day 2, and well into Day 3 to really probe England's abilities
again.
