All they needed to do, was bat out the day. All they needed to do was replicate what Sri Lanka had shown could be done. Yet, they replicated what they themselves had done to India and England a few times in the past few months.
All out before tea, the only resistance came from Younis, Inzy and Shahid Nazir. While one can scarcely blame Yousuf after his performances in the series, where were Taufeeq Omar, Salman Butt and Faisal Iqbal? What about Kamran Akmal? None of them were able to rise to the challenge, and folded like the proverbial folding chair.
Osman Samiuddin in an interesting article in Cricinfo, has highlighted some of the concerns facing the Pakistani squad. There is a lot of work ahead for them.
