Champions Tropy Brightspots

This was a tough event for the Pakistani side. No Inzamam, No Shoaib, No Asif. Abysmal fielding, and shoddy keeping work by Akmal were perhaps some of the more major concerns of the tournament. Shahid Afridi was unable to do much with the bat or ball, and apart from Shoaib Malik and Yousuf, none of the batsmen acquitted themselves with any honour. What was perhaps even more concerning though, was the relative ineffectiveness of Rana Naved, who just a year ago was the darling of ODI cricket. All in all, a tournament to forget, but one which may just have relinquished Shahid Afridi for some further time, once again, to the nether regions of Pakistani cricket.
