Are the days of the all-powerful Pakistani captain over? It would appear so. After years where the captain had all the say in who the final playing 11 would be, the Pakistani team is set to adapt a more professional approach, vis-a-vis the Australians and English, where a selector would be present in team meetings to help make these final selections. While the selector may not understand the team chemistry and/or dynamic, the presence of the selector would ensure that even the long term needs of the team are taken into account when selection for individual matches is made. Good move.
