Yousuf and Razzaq save the day

Multan was almost Pakistan's Waterloo. In an engaging last day, Yousuf and Razzaq fought the West Indies to a stand still. After significant calls by many for Razzaq to be dropped for this test, Razzaq gave Yousuf worthy support to ensure that a stand of 152 for the 6th wicket was enough to earn Pakistan a draw. West Indies clearly did have the upper hand in this test. Brian Lara's decisive and imperial 216 had a lot to do with it, as did Pakistan's mostly ineffectual bowling on a wicket where the WI pacers were able to swing the ball enough to trouble the Pakistani batsmen, as Inzamam and Shoaib's quick dismissals testify. The test in Karachi, specially in the days of early winter will surely offer more support for the pacers, and it will be up to the Pakistani bowlers to make a better showing. Razzaq more than likely has secured his position for the third test.
