In somewhat of a blow, and perhaps even relief, for the Pakistani cricket squad, Abdul Razzaq is set to be out for the month of January with a torn calf muscle, an injury sustained in the last ODI with the WI.
It will be a blow, as Abdul Razzaq has been a fixture in the squad for the last 4 years, and apart from niggles like tennis elbow, has been relatively healthy. He has held down the #7 or #8 spot in the lineup, and his performances have often highlighted the inconsistency of Shahid Afridi. With his injury, it may have become a little bit easier for Shahid Afridi to find his way back into the squad. On the other hand, this may be an opportunity to play another bowler for the Pakistanis, as the bowling cupboard is well-stocked at the moment.
