Captain Inzamam
This is the Inzamam that has been hiding the last little while. Came to the crease with Pakistan at 135 for 6, only 11 ahead of South Africa. And when he walked off the field, unyielding, carrying his bat, Pakistan had advanced to 265. Inzamam added 130 runs with the likes of Sami, Kaneria, Akhtar and Mohammad Asif, scoring 92, and his partners scored 22. Inzamam superbly mastered the tail, and in the final partnership lasting 20 overs, and yielding 74 overs, he was able to nurse Asif along with having to play only 29 balls out of a possible 124. That is a captain's inning, albeit falling short of a hundred that would have given Inzamam a century against every test playing nation. That is the Inzamam we love, and that is why in a struggle between Inzamam and Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam will always come out ahead. Sorry, Shoaib.
