Does anyone else find this surprising? Shoaib Akhtar, on examination in Lahor, not only does not look unwell, and apparently doesn't really have a serious hamstring injury. I think we should stop kidding ourselves when it comes to Shoaib Akhtar. He may have potentially rushed back, after being upset at the snub of not being taken to South Africa. After rushing back on his own volition, he gave up on the team by refusing to come out on the second day, where even five or ten overs from him may have been enough to swing the balance further Pakistan's way. And then of course the issue of insubordination to Bob Woolmer. Cricket is a team sport, and atleast sometimes requires someone to put their own personal ego second, and I am not sure Shoaib can do that. Kills me to say this.
