An analysis of the World Cup Defeat

There really is too much going on right now, for me to formulate a well thought out response and reflect appropriately on the many major things which have happened over the last 48 hours.

I had initially planned to put together a complete analysis of Pakistan's performance in the World Cup, and look at a potential way forward, but I find myself too distracted and discombobulated to be able to do so in a well thought-out and structured way. For now, I will just link to ZR at Sundries well thought out multiple posts(1,2,3,4,5,6) on the issue, along with Kamran Abbasi's thoughts on PakSpin @ CricInfo and Osman Samiuddin's very articulate thoughts on the issue.

Major changes will have to come over the next few months, and when it comes to Pakistani cricket, it will have very little do with rationality and well-thought out steps, but more to do with what Musharraf or Dr. Ashraf have to eat in the morning they have to make the decision. If they pay half-a-mind to the thoughts of the above three, things may actually work out in the long-run.
