Sunset of a Great Career

March 21st, 2007. The day that the career of one of Pakistan's greatest batsmen, Inzamam-ul-Haq ended. A truly fitting tribute from the Pakistani players who formed a guard of honour as he walked back to the pavilion after his innings. And also a fitting tribute from Osman Samiuddin in CricInfo.

While I may be a little bit older than OH, I can well relate to his post. For the past 15 years, Inzamam has been the pillar in a Pakistani batting lineup. He has been the source of strength in moments of weakness, the source for inspiration for multiple youngsters who have come forward over the last few year, and perhaps truly one of the best players of fast bowling in the history of cricket. We will all miss him, and the effortless plunder which was his way of scoring runs. Allah Hafiz Inzamam.
