Umar Gul to play county

Everybody knows that real money for Pakistani cricketers is made in the county circuit. Yet, one has to wonder with Umar Gul. After more than three years in the Green uniform, he has only played in a handful of matches. The main reason for this has been repeated injuries, and one wonders if he has the ability to continue to play not only on a busy international circuit, but a busy county circuit on top of that. Pakistan needs to rein in its players, especially those on central contract, as these long-term injuries are not really going to be acceptable. Wasn't the whole idea of central contracts that the players wouldn't have to play such a heavy load of first class cricket? Can't have your cake and eat it as well.
