Hearteningly, Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul have spoken in favour of Shoaib Malik's appointment, which bodes well for the future. Shoaib could do worse than having Shahid Afridi on his side. More disappointingly though, a number of ex-cricketers who love to see themselves in the spotlight, have done nothing but malign Shoaib's appointment. More bizzarely, Sarfraz Nawaz says he wants Mishbah-ul-Haq (who?!) and Salman Butt (can he first get a place in the squad!) as test and ODI captains respectively. I was happy to see that Imran Khan has spoken in favour of Shoaib Malik's appointment.
