There was some good news for Pakistan, in the midst of losing the fifth ODI to India. The Pakistani U-19 team won in a thriller in Colombo against India to retain their title as World Champions in the U-19 realm.
Having been dismissed for 109 in the first innings,
Pakistan were really behind the eight ball. No one really bucked up to make a stand against the Indian bowlers, with the highest score being by Rameez Raja at 25. India, having a very talented first five, were heavy favourites to win and there would have been very few who would have bet on Pakistan to win the match.
That is exactly what they did. The first wicket fell on the first delivery of the match, and the first over ended with India at 5 for 1. By the end of the second over, it was 8 for 4. The third over, 8 for 5, and in the fourth over Pakistan had demolished India to leave them reeling at 9 for 6 wickets. Jamshed Ahmed and Anwar Ali really put on an absolute clinic in aggressive seam bowling. India stabilized somewhat, but were all out for 71, leaving Pakistan to retain their championship.
Good on our boys!
