Who would have thought that Day 2 would end like this.
Sri Lanka were quickly wrapped up on the beginning of the day, after being dismissed for 279. Asif bowled amazingly well to take 6 for 44, and apart from support from Kaneria (4 - 53), the rest of the bowling was frightfully anemic.
The Pakistani batting, as it has been wont to do the last little while, basically collapsed. From a relatively stable 121-3, Pakistan fell to an all out of 170. Murali bowled spectacularly as always, taking 5-39.
Pakistan could have folded over and died, but amazingly they fought back again. Asif bowled two devestating spells, and with great support from Razzaq, decimated Sri Lanka to 73 for 8 at the end of the day. In the space of 24 overs, Asif took 5-27, and Razzaq took 3-20 to truly peg Sri Lanka back. The side fielded well, responded well, and but for a few questionable umpiring decisions, may even have dismissed Sri Lanka for a lower score.
Watch out for an exciting Day 3.
