Rhodes to be a coach's coach?

In an interview with Osman Samiuddin, Shaharyar Khan gives some perspective on the hiring of Rhodes as Pakistan's fielding coach. All of this is in response to the criticism the PCB has received from Imran Khan and Javed Miandad.

It appears that Rhodes has been hired to assist the coaching staff inculcate the virtues of fielding and to let the players also have the same mindset. What I want to know, is how can Rhodes do this, when he has never coached and he was the supreme fielder in the world under the coaching of Bob Woolmer. Someone tell me how this makes sense.
