It definitely appears thatthe World Anti-Doping Agency is not willing to let go of this issue. They are asking for both Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif to not only be banned forthwith, but also to continue to be retested for drugs.
While there are multiple issues of procedure which make the testing process fall outside the bounds of justice and legality (nice summary on cricinfo.com), one can see it from the WADA point of view. they are in charge of ensuring that sports uphold the highest values in regards to doping, and now you have two people who tested positive, who accept the tests as being right, walking around and being selected for upcoming tours, with no penalty whatsoever. Tough situation.
