The scuttle butt has it, that Wasim Bari will soon be selected to be the COO of the PCB. While we have heard of Asif Iqbal being considered, it appears that Wasim Bari as chief selector, has the inside track. A lot can change though in the shifting sands of Pakistani cricket, so I'll believe this appointment when I see it.
For the appointment to be more then just window dressing, there will have to be an increasing stability and professionalism at the PCB, within its structure and the way decisions are made. Further, the way cricket runs in the entire country must come under the purview of the COO to ensure that the game becomes healthy from the grassroots up.
