What drama!!

After a couple of days of not posting, all that has been around us has been drama! Yousuf's renaissance, Afridi's blitzkrieg, Inzamam's captain's knock followed by a ridiculous dismissal. Gas canisters exploding, Afridi's brain dead move of scuffing the pitch, and almost 50 runs off the last wicket for England, followed by another strong performance by Salman Butt, and Inzamam playing another captain's knock in the second innings.

It has been an intriguing match so far. Yes Pakistan could have played better and definitely fielded better as many chances went a begging, but they have done well to be positioned where they are on the last day in Faisalabad. As they showed in Multan, any score of greater than 250, specially on the last day, is a difficult thing to handle. If Pakistan can get to the lunch session, regardless of the score, they will set themselves in a good position.

I think we should be clear about one thing: This is the Pakistani cricket team. Regardless of how we feel about Shoaib Malik opening, this squad of XI with Naved and Afridi, is a squad which is willing to fight and give its all. Fielding has to be improved, but the flexibility with the bowling and the determination and grit this XI shows, are the key factors which should drive this XI to be selected over and over again.
