Mushtaq appointed bowling coach

Mushtaq Ahmed has been appointed a bowling coach for the upcoming series. There is even talk that he may be coach till the World Cup. Frankly, I don't understand this. Mushtaq is a leg-spinner. Danish Kaneria is not the problem when it comes to bowling for Pakistan. Unless Mushtaq has some experience with off-spinners (Malik) or seamers (Akhtar, Sami, Shabbir, Umar Gul, Rana etc.), then this appointment seems not to make sense. There needs to be a better explanation of Mushtaq's credentials prior to being assigned this role.
